Texas Event Focuses on Increasing Global Competitiveness
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in two and a half days of networking and learning involving the latest techniques, trends and issues regarding manufacturing! The Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center in conjunction with The National Association of Manufacturers and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Applied Manufacturing Conference 2005, October 26 - 28, in Arlington, Texas.

The conference will kick off with tours of North Texas' finest Manufacturers. Educational workshops will be presented by top Industry professionals; special keynote speakers include Gov. John Engler, President of the National Association of Manufacturers and Pat Panchek, Editor in Chief of INDUSTRY Week Magazine. New for 2005 - A "Made In Texas" Opening Night Reception will feature more than 50 displays of products made in Texas and the inaugural Texas Manufacturing Awards Dinner and Reception will highlight 14 finalists from the across the state as the vie for this prestigious award. Presentations and remarks tentatively scheduled to be made by Gov. Rick Perry (invited).
The conference will begin at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 26 and will run through Friday, October 28 at the Wyndham Arlington Hotel, 1500 Convention Center Blvd. Parking is free. Cost is $395 but early-bird discounts are available. Members of various trade organizations including National Association of Manufacturers, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Institute of Industrial Engineers and the Manufacturer's Association of North Texas will receive a $25 discount on registration fees. Fees include all materials, continental breakfast and lunch.

The Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC) exists to enhance the competitive position of the state's manufacturing sector.
